Notes About David
As a practitioner, David Kozlowski's job is to help people struggling with anxiety and depression. By meeting with the same people over the span of months and years David has gotten to see the most successful ways that a person can overcome, manage and avoid the pitfalls and pain from anxiety and depression.
David doesn’t speak on what choices are best for individual families such as medication or no medication. He focuses on the common factors that are acceptable and effective across the board that does not lean towards a specific race, religion or sexual orientation. David is a seasoned professional at talking to schools and is careful to not use words or examples that could offend people in attendance.
David's approach is for people to learn how to improve their ability to communicate and connect with family, friends, peers and loved ones. Having trusted people that you can be vulnerable with, drastically increases the probability that you will make the best decisions with regards to helping loved ones with anxiety and depression.
David's presentations are build on his experience working with families which have shown him that “an individual’s life is only as good as the relationships they have in their life.”
David references books/research that the audience can go to in order to help them understand how our relationships greatly influence our mental and emotional health.
He gives tools that are easy to understand and apply, as well as answering questions from the audience.
When people take the time out of their life to come to a school night they are hoping to get more than just statistics and commonplace tools. They are looking for information that will personally apply to them and their situation.
David doesn’t attempt to give therapy on stage and is clear to the audience that some questions are best suited to be discussed after the presentation or just might not be appropriate for the setting of a parent night.
*These presentations are appropriate for all ages and doesn’t include graphic examples of suicide stories etc.
He provides a text line allowing people to also text in their questions if they do not feel comfortable asking in public. The texts are carefully chosen to make sure the questions are appropriate for the discussion and audience in attendance. If an individual doesn’t get their question answered then David will answer questions on his podcast later in the week, that they can tune in to hear his response.
